Transportation

Albuquerque has some of the best public and private transportation available in the country, and thanks to carefully planned city engineering it is easy to get around.

The City of Albuquerque’s transit department, ABQ RIDE, is responsible for handling all busses and they have operational lines all over the city. These routes include numerous “park and ride” locations as well as traditional bus stops.

The Rail Runner is a commuter rail service which is available that was started by the New Mexico Department of Transportation and the Mid-Region Council of Governments. This service has stations located along the I-25 corridor and currently runs from Belen to Santa Fe.

Private companies also operate in the city. These include everything from taxis and limousine services to shuttle busses and even a sightseeing trolley. If you prefer to drive, there are several car rental agencies.

It is even easy to travel to and from Albuquerque. The Amtrak station is conveniently located close to the center of Albuquerque while the airport is nestled just off of I-25.
